It's great when schedules align to combine the two into one session.
I love this mix of nature vs urban settings.
Even more fun when you learn that one of your clients grew up there!
At home lifestyle sessions are a fun way to capture you where you feel the most comfortable.

It truly has been an honor to capture this Senior Class. I know that it was hard for them to be excited for Senior photos when it didn't seem like they were going to have a Senior Year at all. Thanks to science, things are looking up and they get to finish the year together! Best wishes for health, happiness and a bright future to the Class of 2021.
]]>
Wishing you all the best for your very bright futures.

It's hard to believe that a year ago today, we were only a few weeks into this pandemic. There was so much uncertainty and fear and life as we knew it came to a screeching halt. Suddenly our homes became much more than a place to sleep and grab a quick meal between running from one place to the next. Our homes were the only place we felt safe and could breath easily.
The Front Porch Project spread nationwide with the intent of safely capturing photos of families during this historic time. When have we ever, or will we ever, spend so much time at home together? All that togetherness certainly came with its challenges but now we can see all the blessings it brought, too.
I rarely take photos in front of homes unless a family is moving, but these photos..., these photos capture families safe at home. I will always remember the sheer joy it brought me to see these smilies through my long lens standing on the sidewalk and the families being so excited to have a reason to put on real clothes or not, because anything went for these photos! Many incorporated props like disinfecting wipes and toilet paper and whatever they were doing to pass the time at home. History. It was history in the making.
Participating in this project wasn't just a creative outlet for me to get through lock down; it was a way to support my community. I captured 70 families while I walked in my neighborhood and each one donated to either the Waunakee Food Pantry or Waunakee Neighborhood Connection, providing hundreds of dollars to support those in our community who were hit hardest when so many businesses had to close or completely change how they operated.
I will never regret capturing these photos just as we will never forget this past year.

This is my family. So thankful for each one of them.
]]>
Isn't the nursery just perfect?!
Keeping a close eye on me while I worked!
FInally ready for a long winter's nap and a bear hug from his sweet sister.

]]>
It was so much fun to work with Anna on these branding photos.
]]>Eliza and her family have been our extended farm family in Waunakee - which is extremely fortunate for my oldest son who is a cow lover too so he gets to participate in the dairy project at our local fairs and I get to stay connected to my dairy roots.
We covered a wide range from the family farm to the tennis court - there's a special connection to each and every spot. This gallery makes my heart smile!
]]>]]>
And many thanks to my clients who referred me to their friends. It is the best compliment ever!
These girls rocked their sessions!
]]>This Senior session had a lot of location and outfit changes. It's amazing what you can accomplish in less than 2 hours when you have a driver and a fast wardrobe changer! It was fun collaborating with Anna on her style and I loved that she found a great new-to-me location and that we started the session at her home.
]]>
We adventured through downtown Madison and ended at Lake Mendota. It was fun to match up locations to Mason's awesome personality and style. It's hard to call it work when we're all having so much fun.
]]>
Great color, great families and so much fun!
]]>
]]>
I knew this sweetie was going to be an awesome big sister. I just had the opportunity to meet her little brother and she was the best helper and she wanted to take photos with me which just melted my heart!
]]>This session was another reminder of why I love the opportunity to come to client's homes to get the family snuggling in their own space. It makes the photos even more personal and meaningful.
It was fun to work in some Christmas-themed photos too. What a wonderful gift she is!
]]>Four of my favorite things all wrapped up in one amazing night.
I've been lucky enough to work with this family since their youngest daughter was a newborn. We have had so much fun together and every time I think it's been my favorite session, the next one is even better! I love seeing the personalities of the girls emerge and love their sweet relationship with each other.
]]>As always, much appreciation to my host, CaPaul's Tree Farm, for always opening their beautiful Farm to me and my clients.
]]>
A huge shout out of appreciation to my host, CaPaul's Tree Farm, for always opening their beautiful Farm to me and my clients. This past season I added in some "snow fun" - little did I know we were going to have soooooo much snow to start off this year!

A few favorites from 2018 Summer Mini Sessions.

I was honored to work with the Moh Family last Fall. They have an incredible martial arts school, www.mohsmartialarts.com, and
obstacle course gym, www.letsgoninja.com, in Waunakee. My son is working towards his first degree black belt and I've been mastering some of my own warrior moves through kickboxing classes. We are lucky to have these great programs in our community.
]]>
I have so much respect for farmers. It's a tough gig - no sick days, no holidays and definitely no closed due to inclement weather days. Thinking about all the farm families during harsh streaks of weather like we've had this week. Thank you.
]]>
I loved that it expanded my creative process to a new venue with bright colors; I loved that it captured a family having fun at a place that has special meaning to them, and I loved that it was for a life-long friend so I had the chance to catch up with her too! Winning all the way around!
2019 Goal = more of these kinds of sessions!
]]>
I've had the honor of working with this fun family for a few years and was beyond excited to do a Signature Session at the WI State Capitol, not only because I LOVE the building, but also because they were touring state capitols around the country. What an awesome way to remember that fun family journey!
]]>
Plus, they are never this tiny ever again. Don't blink!
]]>It's truly a special time to capture.
]]>
]]>
I loved the sweet sister moment we captured and I love that I finally got to use my eskimo bonnet that is fitting for a day like today too and I loved the beautiful light and character in this home but not as much as I adore this sweet family. Mom Erin and have been friends since college and I've been honored to be along for her journey into motherhood. I love seeing her happy and blessed with this beautiful family.
]]>
I sure have loved being along for this family's journey with maternity, newborn and milestone sessions.

Did I mention how much texture was all in one spot?!
And Black & White was just as beautiful!
Some of my favorite-favorites!
]]>
This was a fun e-session back at the spot of their first date. Loved hearing the early dating stories!
And I'm so excited for the wedding in July!
]]>
]]>
I hate spoiling the big reveal!
I love my holiday mini sessions. It fun to change it up and put together something more stylized with a little something different each year and I love the family snow ball fights. Who knew throwing fake snowballs could be so much fun!? And a shout out to my gracious host, CaPaul's Christmas Tree Farm, for a beautiful setting.
]]>
I love the photos of Jack - reminds me of the inquisitive nature of my own two boys.
]]>We started out with a nod to his Ohio roots and then moved onto the delicious cake!
Seriously! It was hard to take photos - I was laughing so much! Happy Birthday, Ben!
]]>
]]>
CeCe was a rockstar sleeper for her newborn session, made us work for some smiles at her six-month session
and LOVED her cake smash session. What a doll!
]]>
]]>
I love spending extra time with families to get to know them better, have fun with the kiddos and capture special moments.
This is an example of the variety of photos taken during a Signature Session.
]]>]]>
CaPaul's Christmas Tree Farm has been a gracious host for the past three years - there are endless ways to change it up every year! I loved this year's set up, plus the addition of the red velvet chair from Rustic Revival Decor Sale & Rental in Waunakee. Clients can come dressed in their Sunday best, casual or even in cute Christmas PJ's! Keeping it short and sweet is always a hit for the dads and ending the session with a cookie treat is an added bonus for the kiddos!
]]>It was a honor to capture Hazel's arrival home right before Christmas.
]]>
It's even more special when it's family. Congratulations, Kimberly & Karl!
]]>
I will be the first to admit I'm not a fan of the puppy stage, but moments like these make it all worth.
]]>
We chose Pope Farm Conservancy for a beautiful sunset session. It was the perfect night!
]]>

"We LOVE these!!! Thank you so much for the great photos and quick turn-around to receiving them! The lighting and backgrounds are perfect and we are really happy with how each of them turned out. You were able to capture all of our different family combinations and we have never had that before...its so great. I can't say enough about the quality of your work. You have a natural eye for capturing images."

I had so much fun with this awesome couple and their family and friends at the Edgewater Hotel in Madison. It was a day filled with laughs and happy tears and so much fun. Outdoors was filled with 70 MPH winds and about 9 storm fronts of rain, sleet and snow! We lucked out with a few outdoor photos without being blown away.
]]>]]>
I was so honored to be welcomed into their home to capture the tininess of their fourth beautiful baby girl - just as adorable and sweet as her sisters!

Last week I had the chance to take headshots for several members at Schumacher Farm Park.
Beautiful day and setting for a group of beautiful women! Thank you for your support!

This was another fun session with some dear, dear friends.
Mr. JJ was trying his best to hide his teeth from me, but I snuck a few photos of his pearly whites just
for mom!

Special thanks to Rock the Shot and Prop Insanity for coordinating a top-notch experience; to the mentors Jamie Faulkner Photography,
Anja Photography, Liz Franco, and Stephanie Pana and stylists Jeanna Gattuso Styling and Abby Bella Couture.
Here are a few of the photos I took during the day-long photography extravaganza! I can't wait to edit more!
